I show up with my education, training and professional experience, as well as the wealth of personal, human, life experiences that make me who I am. I have years of experience working with trauma in many presentations. Whether it’s a history of childhood abuse, an assault, an accident, relational violence or abuse, or maybe it’s something difficult to even put into words. Sometimes our deepest sense of distress has no specific incident that we can pinpoint. Instead, it is our beliefs about our self or others that seems to interfere with our happiness. I believe lasting change comes when a person is ready and willing to do deep work and look inward. To help with this work I use multiple specialized techniques including a focus on emotion, our early attachment relationships, mindfulness, emotional coping strategies, and strategies for desensitization of triggers and trauma memories including EMDR and trauma focused CBT.
