I specialize in working with patients suffering from anxiety and mood disorders. I work from a cognitive-behavioral theoretical orientation, which means looking at thought processes and behavioral patterns that may be creating and contributing to uncomfortable feelings. I see every individual I work with as unique, and work with my clients to create a collaborative treatment plan that is specific to their needs. I work from a brief therapy model (10-20 sessions), but also work with some clients for much longer if that is needed. I would like the referring clinician to contact me before the referral to discuss the case and determine with me the appropriateness of outpatient treatment. I conduct my own assessment process that takes two sessions before I sign a treatment contract with the patient. If outpatient work with me does not seem appropriate, I will contact the referring clinician and help the patient with other referral options.
